Pure Data

During class we experimented with multiple uses for Pure Data and the one that I liked the most was when we created our own synthesised sounds. I was interested in the potential applications for game design in mind so I looked at tutorials online to expand on what was learned.

The yellow slider is the pitch with a output range between 0 and 100. Sliding along this bar manually produced some interesting effects. I added some oscillators to harmonise the sounds thus making it feel more rich. The volume slider was set with a very short output range (0 to 1.5) to make the change more distinctive between a smooth sound effect to a distorted one. Finally the green button triggered a repeating sequence of notes that is made up of numbers within the pitch and as a result creating a catchy rhythm.
